We use coaching methodologies and Appreciative Inquiry as a model to explore when to minimize, when to adapt, and when to integrate, through “third-way” solutions.
In today’s fast-paced business environment, teams no longer have the luxury of time. They need to be able to rapidly form, build trust, clarify purpose, determine roles, and execute. Innovation and decision-making processes often need to be developed from zero base. What has worked in the past often needs to be set aside in order to think in new ways.
In the 6-month Agile Teamwork Program participants will focus on partnerships as a creative force while creating a shared vision and a strategic plan for achieving that vision.
The Agile Teamwork Program will help your team to:
- Quickly formulate, build trust, create shared goals and execute plans
- Adopt a global mindset and develop cross-cultural bridges
- Optimize communication channels
- Create and clarify context
- Create and share knowledge
- Distribute leadership among team members
- Provide a framework for embracing conflict as necessary for innovation
- Understand how a leader’s emotional state influences others
- Collaborate effectively, make decisions, and set/manage strategy
- Embrace conflict as an opportunity to deepen connections
Conflict exists. Although we generally don’t enjoy it, conflict is part of life. Change brings uncertainty and uncertainty can bring conflict. Conflict also comes from working with other people. Opinions, values, communication and leadership styles, for example provide more than enough grounds for disagreement. How does your team deal with conflict?! Although conflict may be inevitable, how you deal with and prepare for it can make the difference between success and failure. There are 2 common reactions to conflict:
- Conflict gets dealt with through authoritarian decree, meaning people are told what to do by an authority figure. This often leads to resistance and apathy.
- Conflict is ignored or avoided. This generally results in concessions and compromises which leads to mediocrity.
Now, a third way is available: Creative Conflict
Action Values Café
Organizations possess enormous amounts of tacit knowledge and energy that often lay dormant within dynamic networks. The Action Values Cafe (AVC) capitalizes on this knowledge by making it explicit in a way that captivates and motivates people into action.
Through a rotating conversation where the only rules are to be curious, open-minded, and use active listening, every voice is heard as a contribution. Individual engagement levels rise and the group energy increases. New ideas emerge as the collective intelligence becomes aware of itself.
The benefits of an Action Values Café are:
- Increased Clarity of Values
- Enhanced Motivation for Action
- Increased Engagement
- Clear Action Steps
- Specific Accountabilities
- Effective Cultural Change Initiatives
